“Our goal is to create high-quality instructional experiences that provide an opportunity for rapid growth in a family-friendly environment.”
Technology is rapidly developing and opening up new opportunities in both music and education. Never before have we enjoyed this kind of personal access to professional teachers and industry experts from the comfort of our own home. With these new capabilities in mind, we set out to create a platform that gives students multiple options and opportunities to develop their skills as musicians.
Our YouTube channel features a growing library of instructional videos that our students and student all over the world can access
free of charge. The YouTube channel serves multiple purposes:
Our YouTube channel allows us to provide additional instruction to our students. They can
explore songs and new techniques at a time and place that is convenient for them, when they are the most receptive to learning.
For parents/students who are considering taking music lessons with us, it allows them to
get to know Katie and hopefully feel more comfortable with her as a teacher. Of course, if you have any questions, please don’t
hesitate to contact us.
Finally, it allows us to give back to the music community by providing high-quality, family-friendly
lessons absolutely free of charge.
For students and parents with busy schedules or for those who live in areas with harsh climate, online lessons are a great way to cut down on travel time while still receiving the same high-quality personal instruction as a classroom setting. It also provides opportunities to learn from teachers who would otherwise be inaccessible based on their location. Visit our Online Lessons page to learn more.
Did you know that the average student forgets 30-70% of what they learned within just a few hours of their lesson? On top of that,
each day that passes by without practice, the student will lose another 50% of what’s left. Needless to say, the last thing
a parent or student wants is to be paying for lessons (plus drive time and gas), only to spend most of their lesson time relearning
old content from the previous week.
A free option available to all of our online and local students is to have their lesson recorded. This allows students to review
EVERYTHING they learned in the previous lesson, not just the parts they can remember; and they can do it at a time when they are
most receptive to learning. It also creates a new level of transparency between the parent and teacher, allowing parents to review
all of the content that their children are learning.
For students who want to expand on what they’ve learned during their classroom time, they also have access our always-growing library of instructional videos via our YouTube channel.
This combination truly creates an opportunity for full lesson-retention, and puts students in a position where they are able to
progress at a much faster rate compared to traditional music lessons.
